3.4.1 UPS Audio Signals

Occurrence Possible Cause
UPS occasionally emits a beep, but the
system is operating normally.
UPS is briefly transferring the system to its alternate
power source due to power problems (typically volt-
age burnouts, surges or spikes).
This operation is normal as it protects the system from
abnormal utility voltages.
UPS emits a long beep followed by
short beeps, then the system shuts
down.
The UPS battery is completely empty. Fully charge the
UPS before using the system again.
