4.1 Introduction
4.1.1 Curve Dual Navigation Station
Curve Dual Navigation Station Classification
The Curve Dual Navigation Station is classified as Class I Equipment according to IEC 60601-1
and must be tested accordingly.
Classification Definition
Class I
Refers to equipment classification regarding protection against electric
shock. Protective means are provided for metallic accessible parts or metal-
lic internal parts, such as connection to PE (protective earth).
Classification - EM Instrument Ports
The EM instrument ports are classified as Type BF according to IEC 60601-1 and must be tested
accordingly.
Classification Definition
Type BF
F-Type Applied Part complying with the specified requirements of this stand-
ard to provide a higher degree of protection against electric shock than that
provided by Type B Applied Parts.
Safety Requirements
To avoid the risk of electrical shock, the Curve Dual Navigation Station must only be
connected to a mains power supply with protective earth.
The line connector fuse must have a 16A rating.
