pollution, the complete exchange of the fluid and a cleaning of the cooling system is necessary.
If the cooling fluid level falls below the min. mark, the HV generator will be shut off due to high
temperature. It is recommended to fill up the cooling fluid as soon as possible.
If the cooling fluid is not filled up in time, a cooling fluid alarm will occur. The red status LED will
illuminate permanently. In this case the HV generator will be forced to 0kV/0mA until the fluid has
been refilled. The system will then deny any measurement tasks.
Refilling the cooling fluid tank
Refill the cooling fluid tank:
Close all programs, shut down OS and switch off the system as described before.
Disconnect the D2 PHASER system completely from the mains power supply (risk of electric
shock).
Remove screws (a) and (b) in fig. 79 and …
… open door (b) to the internal reservoir (c) in fig. 80.
Grasp the tank (b) as seen in fig. 81.
Move the cooling unit (e) out in direction (h) in fig. 82.
Open the cover (a) of the tank (b) in fig. 83.
Fill only special cooling fluid (a) (fig. 84 and 85) into the tank. The maximum level is approx. 10mm
below the upper edge of the tank ((c) in fig. 85).
Close the cover of the tank (fig. 86) and push it back into the housing (fig. 87).
Close the door to the internal reservoir again.
Replacement of the fan filter
Check pollution of the fan filters in periodic time intervals (once per week is recommended). The
change interval of the filter units depends on the environmental conditions of the location of the
instrument. There are four filter units on the back side. Control the filter’s quality (fig. 118). If changing
is necessary, shut down the system, switch off the instrument and remove mains plug. Wait until the
fan wheels have stopped. Remove the filter unit frame (fig. 119 to 121) and insert new filters.
