Using Luna
Airway Management
The manikin’s anatomically realistic upper airway provides for the opportunity to intubate the infant
patient, while various clinical signs (e.g., lung sounds, chest excursion, airway patency) can be
simulated using software commands for Live and Advanced configurations. Other airway features
include:
• Hard and Soft Palate
• Oropharynx
• Nasopharynx
• Laryngopharynx
Nasopharyngeal Intubation
Needle
Decompression
Decompression of a pneumothorax
can be performed unilaterally by
inserting a needle at the
midclavicular line of the second
intercostal space.
The instructor
must adjust the
amount of
physiologic
intrapleural air
present.
