Troubleshooting
Area Malfunction Possible cause Corrective action
Engine
Engine does not start * Blade clutch lever is not
in "OFF". (Safety device is
actuated.)
→ Put the lever to "OFF".
* Brake pedal is not depressed.
(Safety device is working.)
→ Depress brake pedal.
* Battery is over-discharged. → Charge battery.

→ Replace battery.

* Battery cable is disconnected. → Connect cable.
* Fuse is blown. → Replace.
* Open circuit or contact failure
of wiring
→ Repair. (Consult dealer.)
Difficulty starting * Lack of fuel Add. (See page 18)
* Air or water in fuel → Check pipe and tightening
band. Repair or replace.
* Excessive intake of fuel → Start after interval.
* Engine oil too low or poor
quality (High oil viscosity)
Add or replace.

* Insufficient capacity of battery
(Poor electric starting)
→ Replenish battery fluid.
