5 Maintenance
5.1 Recommended actions and precautions
The analyzer is easy to use and it is normally free of maintenance.
Do not spill any liquid over the analyzer. I case of spilled liquid suck it immediately up
with a suitable tissue or use a pipette to remove it out of cells.
Wipe the surface with a disinfection solution made for laboratory instruments once a
week for your own safety.
For measuring safety it recommended to use frequently a suitable precision or accura-
cy control material.
Problem cases
MLB242 will not turn on obviously there is a problem in the power supply. Check the
correct connection of the external power supply between the appliance and the electric-
ity network. Ask a technician to check the operating voltage.
Measuring cells are contaminated by a liquid.
• Switch o the device immediately!
• Remove the uid such as using a pipette, siphon etc. or in the case of larger quan-
tities of liquid to simply turn the device, allow the liquid to ow out. Then clean the
cell (s) with a lint-free absorbent felt to remove liquid remains. In the case of biolog-
ical materials, clean the cell (s) with an appropriate disinfectant, see corresponding
notes in the chapter! Safety instructions.
• Note any error messages when switching on the computer.
• If necessary, call the technical service.
Incubation cells are contaminated with uid.
• Proceed as described in the preceding case accordingly!
5.2 Software update
The manufacturer will inform about available software updates by E-Mail after a prod-
uct registration and oer them for download. Proceed as described in Chapter 6.5.
