Section 4 Installing the Correct Accessory Board and Interface
Cable
Note: If operating the Model 860 with a competitive material processing machine (i.e. not a
Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. material processing machine), this section does not apply. Navigate to
the Operating and Control Settings section of the operator’s manual.
Installing the Processor Accessory (Interface) Board
To interface the Model 860 with a Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. Model 360, Model 930, or Model
970, refer to Appendix A at the end of the operator’s manual for detailed instructions on how to
correctly install the accessory board kit in the material processing machine.
To interface the Model 860 with a Carpenter Mfg. Co., Inc. Model 36A/36B, Model 93, or
Model 97A, refer to Appendix B at the end of the operator’s manual for detailed instructions on
how to correctly install the accessory board kit in the material processing machine.
Installing the Interface Cable
Note: If the interface cable is already installed between the material processing machine and the
Model 860, navigate to the Operating and Control Settings section of the operator’s manual.
PN 9614 Coiler Interface Cable (For Model 360, Model 930, or Model 970)
When interfacing the Model 860 with a Carpenter Model 360, Model 930, or Model 970, a PN
9614 coiler interface cable must be installed between the two machines.
1. Insert the 9-pin “D” end of the PN 9614 coiler interface cable into the receptacle on the
back of the Model 860.
2. Insert the 15-pin “D” end of the PN 9614 coiler interface cable into the PN 9686
accessory board kit previously installed on the back of the Model 360, Model 930, or
Model 970.
PN 9580 Coiler Interface Cable (For Model 36A/36B, Model 93, or Model 97A)
When interfacing the Model 860 with the Carpenter Model 36A/36B, Model 93, or Model 97A, a
PN 9580 coiler interface cable must be installed between the two machines.
1. Insert one 9-pin “D” end of the PN 9580 coiler interface cable into the receptacle on the
back of the Model 860.
