Normal Operation Mode, External/Semi-Auto Control Mode
The Model 860 may be operated with a standalone PN 8663 foot switch assembly. This foot
switch assembly is primarily for use when coiling material with competitive material processing
equipment, but can be used with the Model 860 if the Carpenter material processing machine is
not electronically interfaced with the Model 860. To install the PN 8663 foot switch assembly,
insert the 9-pin “D” connector at the end of the foot switch assembly cable into the receptacle on
the back of the Model 860.
Press the NORMAL OPERATION button under “OPERATING MODE”, and press the
EXTERNAL/MANUAL button under “CONTROL MODE”.
When these settings are selected, the Model 860 coiling bowl will begin to spin when the PN
8663 foot switch assembly is pressed once. When the PN 8663 foot switch assembly is pressed
again, the coiling bowl will stop spinning.
