4. Use the spark plug socket and wrench ② from
the tool kit to remove the spark plug.
5. Check the spark plug gap (A) using a thickness
gauge. Adjust the gap if necessary.
NOTE:
Specified spark plug: DCPR8E (NGK)
Spark plug gap: .035~.045 in. (0.8~0.9 mm)
6. Clean the gasket surface. Wipe off any grime
from the threads.
7. Install spark plug and tighten to specified
torque.
NOTE:
Spark plug torque: 14.8 ft-lb. (20 Nm). If a torque
wrench is not available when you are installing a spark
plug, a good estimate of the correct torque is 1/4 to 1/2
turn past finger tight.
8. Install the spark plug cap.
9. Install the cargo box access panel. Torque the
fasteners to 7.3 ft-lb. (10 Nm).
