Stalling, rolling backwards while climbing a hill.
WHAT CAN HAPPEN:
The vehicle could overturn.
HOW TO AVOID THE HAZARD:
Maintain a steady speed when climbing a hill.
IF ALL FORWARD SPEED IS LOST:
Close the throttle. Apply the brake. When fully stopped, shift the gear selector to the park position.
IF THE VEHICLE BEGINS ROLLING:
Never apply engine power. Carefully apply the foot brake while rolling backwards. When fully
stopped, keep the brake applied, shift the gear selector to the parking position, and determine the
best way to safely change direction.
