Displaying a Sanitized Version of the Running Configuration
A sanitized running configuration report displays the contents of the running configuration without
installation specific parameters. Some configuration details, such as IP addresses, are replaced with
different addresses. The sanitized configuration can be used to share a configuration without exposing
the configuration details.
In EXEC and global configuration mode, you can view the sanitized configuration for the to which you
are connected. When you are connected to the and operating in administration EXEC and administration
configuration mode, you can view the sanitized administration configuration, which includes hardware
assignments for .
To display the sanitized portion of the running configuration, enter the show running-config sanitized
command in EXEC or global configuration mode, as shown in the following example:
