Cisco CATALYST 2960 - The client, Switch A, broadcasts a DHCPDISCOVER message to locate a DHCP server. The DHCP server offers configuration parameters (such as an IP address, subnet mask, gateway IP address, DNS IP address, a lease for the IP address, and so forth) to the client in a DHCPOFFER unicast message.; The DHCP server confirms that the IP address has been allocated to the client by returning a DHCPACK unicast message to the client. With this message, the client and server are bound, and the client uses configuration information received from the server. The amount of information the switch receives depends on how you configure the DHCP server. For more information, see the “Configuring the TFTP Server” section on page 3-7.

Note Though visible in the command-line help strings, appletalk is not supported as a matching condition.
To filter IPX traffic, you use the type mask or lsap lsap mask keywords, depending on the type of IPX
encapsulation being used. Filter criteria for IPX encapsulation types as specified in Novell terminology
and Cisco IOS terminology are listed in Table 2-4.
Defaults This command has no defaults. However; the default action for a MAC-named ACL is to deny.

lsap lsap-number mask (Optional) Use the LSAP number (0 to 65535) of a packet with 802.2
encapsulation to identify the protocol of the packet.
mask is a mask of don’t care bits applied to the LSAP number before
testing for a match.
