Step 8
Adjust Base to fit snugly against the vehicle seat back:
• Position one hand on each side of the Base.
• Use thumbs to press and hold both LATCH Adjustment
Buttons (1) while pushing the Base firmly towards
vehicle seat back (2), as shown in Figure 45.
• Release LATCH Adjustment Buttons and continue to
push the Base toward vehicle seat back until it is in
firm contact with the vehicle seat back and locked in
position.
NOTE: Once the Base is in firm contact against the
vehicle seat back, you can adjust the Base more snuggly
by pushing each side one at a time and wiggling the
Base back into the vehicle seat back.
Step 9
Check for secure installation:
• While gripping the Base above the LATCH
Connectors, pull Base front to back and left to right to
check for secure installation as shown in Figure 46.
LATCH system MUST stay secure and Base should not
move more than 1 in. (2.5 cm) in any direction.
