  If you are experiencing unclear communications with your Codan Transceiver, try switching to another channel and ensure you press the PTT button. If using a whip or long wire antenna, verify that the antenna selection icon is set to ATU or Auto. For short-distance communication, try positioning the whip horizontally for near vertical incident skywave operation or switch to a long wire antenna. If the issue persists, switch to a dipole or broadband antenna and check that the antenna selection icon is set to 50 or Auto.

  If there are no supports available for your wire antenna, you can lay the antenna wire directly on the ground. Additionally, lay the earth lead or counterpoise in the opposite direction.
