1 If you made the call in:
• an ALE/CALM network, wait until a message informs
you that the call has been successful (this means your
call has been automatically answered by the other
station)
• a Codan Selcall or Open Selcall network, wait until a
message informs you that the call has been sent and
listen for audible beeps transmitted from the other
station
1 Hold down PTT then speak.
Release PTT when you have finished speaking.
1 To end the call, press SCAN.
The transceiver resumes scanning.
NOTE
If you have the MIL-STD-188-141B ALE
option installed (2110 only) and made the
call using a special ALE address syntax,
you will be able to send data within the
established link by pressing CALL and
following the prompts.
