6-2 HF SSB Transceiver 9323/9360/9390/9780 Technical Service Manual
Programming transmit frequencies TxD/TxE
Transmit programming is enabled by fitting the TPE link located on the
Microprocessor and Audio PCB 08-04966 (see Figure 6-1). The status of the link
is noted by the microprocessor IC101 during the initialisation program. Therefore
unless the link is to remain (for TxE only) it is only necessary to short circuit the
link at switch on. When the display panel shows the power up screen, remove the
link. The transmit enable will remain until the transceiver is switched off. Note
that with TxD normal operation is inhibited during the Transmit Program mode.
With transmit programming enabled, all existing channels including protected
channels can be changed or deleted and new channels can be added. The
Radphone channels in the 9390 stored in the EPROM IC103 are permanent and
cannot be deleted.
Transmit channel frequencies between 2 to 26.5 MHz or 1.6 to 30 MHz
(depending on PA fitted) can be programmed in 10 Hz steps with the TPE linked
fitted. If an attempt is made to program outside this range a TOO LOW or TOO
HIGH warning is displayed. The receiver has an extended range and can be
programmed between 0.25 to 30 MHz. CB channels cannot be programmed.
See page 6-3, Tx/Rx programming procedure for a step by step procedure of how
to program a new receive and transmit channel.
