2.3 Maximum cable length
The maximum cable length depends on input impedance of the system where ST650EX / ST650-
CO
2
/ ST350EX is connected. The sum of the cable resistance and the input impedance is the
total load impedance, and should not be greater than 400 Ω.
Example:
The total load impedance is max. 400 Ω (at 24 Vdc).
The cable resistance should not exceed 250 Ω with a input impedance of 150 Ω
The cable resistance may reach up to 125 Ω (per core), the total cable resistance is
2x 125 Ω = 250 Ω.
If the used cable has a specification of 20 Ω/km, the max allowed length of the cable is:
125 / 20 = 6250 meter.
