4.2.2 Adjusting sensitivity (SPAN calibration)
Always use a water bottle during calibration of a ST350EX. The gas should flow
above the water surface and not flow through the water.
Select CAL SPAN
The display shows: SET CONC (set concentration)
Use the and keys to enter the concentration of the used calibration (SPAN) gas
When calibrating a sensing head for toxic or LEL detection, the SPAN gas should
be within the 5-100% range of measurement range.
The display shows: APPLY GAS
Apply calibration (SPAN) gas using a flow of 20-30l/h
Press to start the SPAN calibration
The display shows: IN PROGRESS
o During the SPAN calibration the display will countdown during 180 sec.
o Apply SPAN gas during the entire countdown period
After a completed SPAN calibration the display shows: PASSED
If the SPAN calibration fails the display shows: FAIL and the Status-LED will flash RED
o Repeat the SPAN calibration using the correct procedure until the message
PASSED appears
Check the sensor response time during a SPAN calibration. The response time
must be within the specified T
(50)
time. Ask Consilium for more details.
