DIP-switch arrays
The transmitter PCB features one 10-fold (Sxx) and two 8-fold (S1 & S2) DIP-switch arrays. The
10-fold DIP-switch array Sxx setting depends on the used sensor type and the calibration of the
sensing head. The 8-fold DIP-switch S1 setting defines the options selected by the user. The 8-
fold DIP-switch S2 setting selects the address of the transmitter PCB when using serial
communication using the MODBUS protocol.
The DIP-switch arrays are pre-set and should not be changed during operation!
Changing the DIP-switch settings directly influences the operation of
the sensing head. Changing the DIP-switch settings should only be
carried out after consultation with Consilium!
The factory setting of the DIP-switch arrays is displayed in the
Appendix B - DIP-Switch settings).
MODBUS
The ST650EX / ST650-CO
2
/ ST350EX sensing head features a RS-485 communication interface,
which offers communication capabilities for industrial installations to communicate with the
ST350EX/ST650EX sensing head. The RS-485 interface uses the MODBUS communication
protocol. Do contact the Consilium service department for more information on this protocol.
With the use of RS-485 serial communication up to 31 sensing heads are able to communicate
through one connection cable without the use of additional amplifier equipment. The address
of each sensing head is set with DIP-switch array S2. Each sensing head should have a unique
address.
