e) Master-Preset: Sampling Master-Preset values.
See
1 Set stage timers
Set stage timers to allow for the actual leak test time desired.

Se the Master-Preset stage timers in compensation mode with
the Master-Preset feature turned ON.

Measure
Master-Preset
values
Master-Preset values can be sampled manually (keyboard
operation) in compensation mode and automatically in
Measurement mode.

3
Check that the
non-
leaking data is
sufficiently low
Set the CHG timer to a longer value if a leak rate reading
equivalent to the non-
leaking data obtained under Item 4 is not
available.
f) Leak calibration: Measuring equivalent internal volumes in compensation mode.
See
1 Samples drift rates Prior to leak calibration, run a leak test with a non-leaking part.
9.1.2
2
Perform leak
calibration with a
Leak Master
Sample the equivalent internal volume with the data
compensated using the last collected leak data. It may also be
sampled using a variable-volume Leak Calibrator.
9.1.3
g) Final setup and verification: Complete all settings required for running a leak test.

h) Starting leak test: Complete the settings and start leak testing.
After calibration, leak rates are read in flow rate unit mL/min.
NOTE
Establish optimal settings from the data obtained by using a non-leaking part and the
leak data obtained by producing a small leak. Use of a Leak Master is recommended.
NOTE
Generally, a time shorter than the test duration determined in Item 4 above is
required. Leak tests can be carried out with high measurement accuracy without
needing a long test time if leak data is compensated using the Master-Preset
feature. The Master-Preset feature is not necessarily required if a sufficiently long
test time is available and a master of the same type as the tested part is used.
NOTE
If the Master-Preset feature is used, perform a Master-Preset in the first run of
leak testing. Carry out the second and subsequent runs of leak testing in the
normal fashion.
