MOTOR: 1 – PMAC (PERMANENT MAGENT MOTOR): COMMISSIONING TESTS MENU
PARAMETER ALLOWABLE RANGE DESCRIPTION
Typical Max Speed
Typical_Max_Speed
0x304D 0x00
500 – 10000 RPM
500 – 10000
Set this parameter to the typical maximum motor speed of the vehicle.
This value does not need to be set precisely; an estimate will do. All of
the vehicle response rates are normalized to Typical Max Speed.
For example, suppose Typical_Max_Speed is xed at 6000 rpm, and
Full_Accel_Rate_LS_SpdM = 3.0 seconds:
If Max_Speed_SpdM = 6000 rpm, it will take 3.0 seconds to accelerate
from zero to top speed (6000 rpm).
If Max_Speed_SpdM = 3000 rpm, it will take 1.5 seconds to accelerate
from zero to top speed (3000 rpm).
If Max_Speed_SpdM = 1000 rpm, it will take 0.5 seconds to accelerate
to accelerate from zero to top speed (1000 rpm).
Max Test Speed
PMAC_Commissioning_Max_Test_Speed
0x38C1 0x00
1000 – 10000 RPM
1000 – 10000
This parameter is used to set the maximum motor speed allowed
during PMAC motor commissioning.
Motor Type

[PCF]
This parameter references a predened table of motor parameters for
many PMAC motors.
This parameter appears in multiple places. Changing the value of
this parameter affects the parameter in:
Program » Motor » 1-PMAC (Permanent Magnet Motor) » Motor Type
Test Enable
PMAC_Commissioning_Test_Enable
0x3862 0x00
0 – 1
0 – 1
This parameter is used to start the PMAC motor commissioning
procedure. If the motor type is known, enter it rst.
Manually close the Interlock switch after this has been set, then set the
Test Throttle to start the test.
Test Throttle
PMAC_Test_Throttle
0x30D1 0x00
–1 – 1
–1 – 1
Begins commissioning if a Test Enable asserted.
IMPORTANT: If motor starts to turn in positive (forward) vehicle speed
direction, set the Test Throttle to 1.
If the motor turns in the negative (reverse) direction, set the Test
Throttle to –1.
Swap Direction
OptionBits3 [Bit 0]
0x306C 0x00
On/Off
On/Off
[PCF]
Changes the physical direction of rotation of a PMAC motor relative
to the throttle command. Change the state of this parameter if the
motor turns in the incorrect direction with a positive throttle after the
commissioning procedure is complete.
Positive motor speed must be in the forward direction in order for the
emergency reverse feature to operate properly.
Note: Do not change this parameter while the controller is powering
the motor. Any time this parameter is changed a Parameter Change
Fault (fault code 49) is set and must be cleared by cycling power; this
protects the controller and the operator.
Adjusting this parameter can be hazardous. If in doubt, consult
the revised PMAC commissioning procedure Chapter 8B in this
document, reference step 14.
Max Test Current
PMAC_Commissioning_Max_Test_Current
0x38C2 0x00
2 – 30%
655 – 9831
This parameter is used to set the maximum motor current allowed
during PMAC motor commissioning.
