Check Coolant Level
WARNING
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot
and under pressure.
Steam can cause personal injury.
Check the coolant level only after the engine has
been stopped and the filter cap is cool enough to
touch with your bare hand.
Remove the filter cap slowly to relieve pressure.
Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid
contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal
injury.
1. Observe the coolant level with engine cold. Maintain
coolant level to the proper line on expansion bottle.
If the expansion bottle has no coolant, it will be
necessary to check coolant at the radiator filter neck.
2. Remove the radiator cap. Fill radiator to the top of
the filter neck. Inspect radiator cap. Replace if
damaged. Install the radiator cap.
