Operating Techniques
Inching into Loads
Typical Example
1. Move the lift truck slowly FORWARD into position
and engage the load. The lift truck should be square
with load, forks spaced evenly between pallet
stringers and as far apart as load permits.
Typical Example
2. Move the lift truck FORWARD until the load touches
the carriage.
Lifting the Load
1. Lift the load carefully and tilt the mast back a short
distance.
Typical Example
2. Tilt the mast further back to cradle the load.
Typical Example
3. Operate the lift truck in reverse until the load is clear
of the other material.
4. Lower the cradled load to the travel position.
NOTE: Lift and tilt speeds are controlled by engine rpm.
