Parking the Lift Truck
Park the lift truck level, with the forks lowered and the
mast tilted forward until the fork tips touch the floor.
Block the drive wheels when parking on an incline.
1. Park in an authorized area only. Do not block traffic.
If LP-Gas equipped, do not park near elevator
shafts or any other area where LP-Gas could collect
in a pocket (low area), causing a potentially
dangerous condition.
2. Place the transmission controls in NEUTRAL.
3. Engage the parking brake.
4. Lower the forks to the ground.
WARNING
Blocking the wheels will prevent unexpected lift
truck movement, which could cause personal injury.
5. Turn the key in the ignition switch to the OFF
position and remove the key.
NOTE: If a LP - Gas equipped lift truck is stopped or
parked for an indefinite or prolonged period of
time, close the fuel shutoff valve on the LP-Gas
tank. Run the engine until fuel in the line runs
out and the engine stops. Turn off the ignition
switch and disconnect switch (if equipped).
6. Actuate each loading lever several times to remove
the residual pressure in the respective cylinders and
hoses.
7. Block the drive wheels if parking on an incline.
