The

sequence

in

Figure

5-6

checks

the

operation

of

the

AC/DC

converter

of

the

Model

1350

DMM.

In brief,

a

standard

1

VRMS

signal

(a

500

Hz

is

connected

to

the

input,

and

the

performance

of

the

meter

is

checked

as

the

input

is

conditioned

to

a

proportional

dc

level

for

the

A/D

converter

input.

The

waveforms

to

be

used

as

standards

for

these

checks

are

included

in

the

waveforms

shown

in

Figure

5-8.

Note

that

the

first

check

is

a

dc

level

check

at

the

output

of

the

operational

amplifier,

Z1.

This

veri

fies

the

operability

of

this

active

component

by

observing

an

appropriate

average

dc

output

for

the

ac

input

applied.
