The
A/D
Converter
is
instrumented
in
a
single
10,
Z2.
The
sequence
in
Figure
5-7
checks
the
operation
of
that
component
by
tracing
the
perfor
mance
for
the
conversion
of
a
1-volt
do
input.
The
diagnosis
checks
the
operation
of
the
phase
switching
by
examining
the
waveform
at
the
input
to
the
pre-integration
buffer
amplifier.
The
switching
action
should
illus
trate
the
3
conversion
steps
that
result
in
three
levels
at
this
point:
100
mV
(negative)
for
lOOmsec;
100
mV
(positive)
for
100
msec;
and
0
mV
for
200
msec.
The
waveform
at
the
integrator
output
is
then
checked
to
verify
the
integrator
performance,
and
the
waveforms
in
Figure
5-8
are
arranged
so
that
the
relative
timing
of
the
input
and
output
of
the
integrator
can
also
be
checked.
(A
dual-trace
oscilloscope
is
recommended
for
this
purpose.)
