To
obtain
access
to
some
test
points
beneatfi

connector
assembly,
carefully
remove
tfie
four
press-on
plastic
nuts
holding
the
display
flex
to
the
front
panel
assembly
(Figure
5-2)
and
lift
the
display
above
the
main
pac-card
to
allow
access
to
the
parts
and
component
test
nodes
on
the
card.

location

the
test
points
provided
on
the
top
and
bottom
of
the
board
to
facilitate
the
trouble-shooting
process.
The
illustration
also
identifies
all
component
locations
as
well
as
the
circuit
nodes
that
are
useful
in
the
trouble-shooting
procedures
described
in
later
paragraphs.

After
removing
the
DMM
top
and
bottom
covers
and
after
detaching
the
display
flex
assembly
from
the
front
panel
assembly,
examine
the
main
assembly
very
carefully.
Look
for
any
evidence
of
burned
or
charred
components
or
circuit
board
etch.
Look
for
any
signs
of
mechanical
damage
or
water
damage.
Clean
the
assembly
and
remove
any
dirt
or
dust.

OPEN-CASE
TROUBLE
SHOOTING
PROCEDURES
WARNING
High
voltages
are
present
near
the
transformer
and
fuses
when
the
power
is
connected.
Use
caution
when
performing
any
trouble-shooting
diagnoses
when
power
is
applied.
Power
should
be
removed
at
the
source
before
replacing
any
components.
