8.2.1 Configuring FAX Pass-through
With FAX Pass-through type, GW will send FAX data using PCM codecs such as G.711u_law or
G.711a_law). Therefore, both sending and receiving GW must have at least one or more PCM codecs.
1) Configuration
FAX setting is established through Telnet or Console.
- Activating FAX mode
GW/CONFIG/FAX> change faxmode [all | specific port number] enable©
Ö Ports or whole system FAX is activated/inactivated according to ports or whole system.

- Setup of Pass-through codec
GW/CONFIG/FAX> change passc [g711_a | g711_u] ©
- Setup of FAX event
When detecting some FAX Event, select whether FAX procedure is executed or not.
GW/CONFIG/FAX> change lced [f711 | m711] ©
Ö When GW at receiving party is detected CED tone, starting pass-through FAX.
Ö F711 is PCM Codec of Passthrough Codec(passc) which is established without Re-INVITE so it
starts FAX.
Ö M711 sends Re-INVITE with Codec in Passthrough Codec (passc).
GW/CONFIG/FAX> change lcng [f711 | m711] ©
Ö CNG tone is detected at sending party’s GW, it execute pass-through FAX.
