Graphics-Card Assembly

WARNING: The graphics-card assembly may be very hot during normal
operation. Ensure that it has had sufficient time to cool before you touch it.
CAUTION: Only a certified service technician should perform repairs on your
computer. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by
your warranty.
CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist
grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a
connector on your computer).
CAUTION: To help prevent damage to the system board, remove the main battery
(see "Removing the Battery Pack" on page 13) before working inside the computer.
Removing the Graphics-Card Assembly

Follow the instructions in "Before You Begin" on page 9.

Remove the battery pack (see "Removing the Battery Pack" on page 13).

Remove the compartment door (see "Removing the Compartment Door"
on page 15).

Remove the graphics-card heat sink fan (see "Removing the Graphics-Card
Heat Sink Fan" on page 31).

Remove the two screws that secure the graphics-card assembly to the
system board.

Lift and slide the graphics-card assembly out to disconnect it from the
connector on the system board.
