Installing the hard drive backplane in the hard drive tray
Prerequisites
1. Follow the safety guidelines listed in the Safety instructions section.
2. Follow the procedure listed in the Before working inside your system section.

Steps
Align the hard drive backplane with the guide pin on the chassis and lower the hard drive backplane on the chassis until it is
firmly seated.

Cooling fans
Your system supports six hot-swappable cooling fans.
NOTE: In the event of a problem with a particular fan, the fan number is referenced by the system management software,
allowing you to easily identify and replace the proper fan by noting the fan numbers on the cooling fan assembly.
Removing a cooling fan

CAUTION: The cooling fans are hot-swappable. To maintain proper cooling while the system is on, replace only
one fan at a time.
NOTE: The procedure for removing each fan is identical.
Steps
Press the fan release tab and lift the cooling fan out of the cooling fan assembly.
