pal requirements for battery disposal.
Glossary of Terms
Document Terminology
Control Module (unit)
The “brain” of your system. Usually hidden under the dash area
of the vehicle. It houses the microprocessor which monitors your
vehicle and controls all of the system’s functions.
Control Center
The Control Center, typically located on the upper part of the
front windshield houses the antenna. It sends and receives com-
mands or messages to and from your system.
Control Center Button
(also called: Control
button or Valet
switch)
A small push button on the control center, also called the control
button, valet switch or valet button. It is used to override disarm
the alarm when a remote is not available, to enter or exit Valet
Mode, and to program the system.
Control Center LED
(also called: Status
LED)
A light mounted on the control center, used to indicate the sta-
tus of your system such as triggers and faults in the system or
sensors.
FailSafe Starter Kill
A switch controlled by the security system which once activated
prevents the vehicle’s starter from cranking, when the system is
armed. The vehicle is never prevented from cranking when the
system is disarmed, in Valet mode - or if the starter interrupt
switch fails. Installation may require additional labor.
