Steer Suspension – Inspect
1. Inspect the suspension mounting bolts. Tighten
suspension mounting bolts, if necessary, to 240
± 30 N•m (180 ± 20 lb•ft).
2. Look for leaks at the power steering hose
connections.
3. Remove any trash buildup on the suspension or
the steer axle.
Parking Brake - Test, Adjust
See topic, “Parking Brake - Test, Adjust” in “First
50-100 Service Hours or a Week”.
Inching & Braking Control Shaft -
Lubricate
1. Lubricate three fittings for the inching and brake
pedal control shaft.
Horn and Lights (If Equipped) -
Check
1. Press horn button, to determine if horn is
operational.
2. Check and replace all defective gauges.
3. Check all lights such as warning, directional,
backup, driving and flood lights for correct
operation. Replace all burned out bulbs.
Have repairs made if needed.
