5.3.1 Fault Messages
In the event of a fault, a message is displayed on the Home screen or Menu
screen being accessed at the time. Some fault messages can be temporarily
hidden by pressing the “Hide” option button. This allows the action being
performed in a particular menu to be completed. Other faults will require
immediate attention.

Fault Message 1000 - No Printer Connected
Description The Controller can not detect a printer connection.
Possible
Causes
Printer cable loose.
Faulty printer cable.
Printer PCB Fault.
Controller PCB Fault.
Remedial
Action
Power off the SmartDate 5 check that the connecting cable
is secure and then re-power.
Try a different printer cable.
Try a different printer unit.
Try a different Controller unit.
Fault Message 1001 - Printer Power Supply Fault
Description Printer fails to function.
Possible
Causes
The power supply to the printer is faulty. (low voltage)
Remedial
Action
Return the controller and printer to the Markem.Imaje
service centre.
Fault Message 1002 - Printer Hardware Fault
Description Printer will not function.
Possible
Causes
A problem has occurred with the printer hardware.
Remedial
Action
Return the printer to the Markem.Imaje service centre.
