6.6 Adjusting looping stroke and needle bar height

Proper setting
The looping stroke is 3.5 mm: When the needle has risen by 3.5 mm from 
its bottom dead center as a result of turning the handwheel in the direction 
of rotation, the hook tip must be at the center of the needle.
This setting must also be present in the opposite direction of rotation.
When the hook eye is in line with the middle of the needle, the lower edge 
of the needle eye and the upper edge of the hook eye are at the same 
level.
To adjust the looping stroke and the needle bar height:
1. Insert the needle.
2. Lock the machine in place in slot C ( p. 13).
3. Loosen the screw (3).
4. Turn screws (2) and (4) such that the hook tip behind the needle is in 
line with the middle of the needle.
5. Tighten the screw (3).
