Inspect the steering joint to detect any damage or
cracks.
Check and correct any loose bolts.
Check also for any stiffness and play.

Lubricate the forward/reverse control mechanism.
Unscrew the two screws (2) and take off the protective
cover (1). Oil the mechanism.
Refit the protective cover.
