This option allows you to control whether the system responds to masking or trouble
events from those detectors that are capable of reporting them, are connected correctly to
the system, and are programmed with the “masking” attribute.
Note: This menu item will appear for the i-on16 if it has a KEY-KPZ01 connected.
The options available are:
The system hides the “Masking” zone attribute, and the System Options –
Masking Override menu. The control unit treats masking signals from FSL
detectors as alarms or tampers depending on the resistance.
The “Masking” zone attribute is available to assign to zones and the
Masking Override menu option is visible.
The detector must use 2k2/4k7 FSL wiring and be connected to just one pair of zone
contacts, and report masking conditions as a nominal 9k1 resistance. Figure 10 shows the
resistance range used for signalling “masking”, and how that range changes when
Masking is enabled or disabled.

Note that an installer can wire resistors to the contacts of a closed circuit loop detector with
a Fault (or Trouble) output in order to use FSL signalling (see Figure 11).
