Zone Tampers
Yes
The user can reset the system after an alarm caused by a zone’s
tamper circuits being triggered.
No
The installer must reset the system after an alarm caused by a zone’s
tamper circuits being triggered. The alarm abort period does not apply.
Note: This setting is required for INCERT approval.
System Tampers
A system tamper can be caused by one of the following:
Panel Lid Tampers Operating the combined lid/back tamper switch.
Keypad Tampers Operating the lid/back tamper switches on the wired
keypads.
Radio Keypad Tampers Operating the lid/back tamper switches on the radio
keypads.
External Sounder Tamper Applying a voltage higher than approximately 3V to the TR
terminal.
Jamming or Supervision Detecting Jamming or Supervision failure when either of
these options are set to “Tamper” see page 100.
The options available are:
Yes
The user can reset the system after an alarm caused by a tamper.
No
The installer must reset the system after a system tamper alarm.
The alarm abort period does not apply.
Note: This setting is required for INCERT approval.
If something activates one of the above tampers when the system is set then the control
unit classifies this as an unconfirmed or confirmed alarm. The reset follows the alarm reset
option NOT the tamper.
Remote Reset (RedCare Reset)
If you select NO for any of the system tampers above then when that type of tamper
occurs the control unit enables the Remote Reset input pin on the plug-by connector. After
an alarm the user may silence the sounders but to reset the system they must first contact
the ARC. The ARC (after verifying the user’s identity) can send a +12V signal to the
Remote Reset input by way of the plug by communicator. On receiving the signal the
control unit allows the user to reset the system.
If the ARC sends the +12V signal and it reverts back to 0V before the user resets the
system then the control unit remembers that the signal has been sent and still allows the
user to reset the system using their normal access code.
Confirmation (EUR Variants)
If you are using an EUR version of the control unit then the control unit will activate any
output programmed as “Confirmed Alarm” if a second zone is activated while the system is
in alarm. The second zone must belong to the partition that is in alarm. The installer can
also select whether to allow users to reset the system after a zone alarm, see page 88.
Notes:
1. Confirmation works only when the Alarm Response is set to “Siren+Comms” (see
page 80).
2. The European version of Release 4 does not support confirmed hold up alarm.
