1.1 Highlighting / Lists
The highlighting outlined here has the following meaning:
CAUTION
Is used if incorrect observation of or failure to observe operating instructions, work
instructions, prescribed procedures and similar can lead to injuries or accidents.
ATTENTION
Is used to warn the reader in cases where ignoring or failing to carefully follow operating
instructions, work instructions, defined working procedures and similar can lead to the
IMPORTANT
Is used if special attention is required in handling the equipment.
Is used if attention to a special feature is required.
NOTE
Notes in operating instructions / documentation are to be indicated by a "Book" symbol.
Lists marked with the () symbol refer to activities that can only be carried out by
installation or operating personnel.
1.2 General information about these operating instructions
This operating instruction contains all the necessary instructions for installation, start-up,
maintenance and repair of ELADOS
EMP IV (type E00 and E10) electrical motor-driven
metering pumps.
NOTE
The ORIGINAL OPERATING MANUAL is legally relevant for the chapters in this manual
written in German.
All the other languages are translations of the ORIGINAL OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS.
IMPORTANT
Please read these instructions carefully and keep them safe so that they can be used as a
reference for operations and service.
If you have any questions, please contact us as shown in section on 1.7 "Contact
NOTE
The relevant sections of this manual must be read and noted before installing the unit,
using it for the first time, and before carrying out any maintenance or repair work.
These operating instructions are an integral part of the EMP IV and must be placed at the
disposal of the operating and maintenance personnel at all times.
In the event of resale, the operating instructions must always be supplied with it.
1.3 EBS Article numbers
Within this operating instruction article numbers, and EBS numbers are represented. EBS
numbers are Ecolab internal article numbers and used only “concern internal”.
1.4 Transport damage
CAUTION
The EMP IV may not be installed if transportation damages are discovered during
unpacking! The carrier in question must be notified immediately, and a damage
confirmation slip must be requested. A copy of the damage confirmation slip must be sent
to Ecolab Engineering GmbH immediately.
