4 Functional description
4.1 Mechanical functions
The metering pump ELADOS
EMP IV is a diaphragm metering pump driven by an electrical
motorfor industrial use.
The metering pumps are suitable for use with clean, non-abrasive metering media with a
viscosity of up to 100 mPas (measuring manner: Brookfield).
An eccentric screw gear (pos. 4) moves the delivery diaphragm (pos. 2) and delivers the
metering medium via the pressure valve (pos. 1). The suction valve is closed.
The delivery diaphragm is moved back through a return spring (pos. 3). The metering medium
is thereby sucked up into the metering head via the suction valve (pos. 6). The pressure valve is
closed.
The discharge flow can be steplessly regulated during operation via the stroke setting (pos. 5).
In this way, the resetting motion of the diaphragm is limited.

WARNING
To protect the metering device, the use of a suction pipe with an empty reporting device
and dirt arrestor (available from our range of accessories) is highly recommended!
The empty reporting device switches off the pump if it falls below a certain level
(in the container).
The permissible primary pressure must always be adhered to in accordance with the table
(see chapter 11.3 “Technical specifications “Overview”).
4.2 Electronic versions
E 00 = Terminal box on motor, mechanical stroke adjustment
E 10 = On-/Off-Switch, mechanical stroke adjustment
The pump operates as soon as the voltage is applied
and the mains switch is set to ‘I’.
