7 Startup
NOTE
On start up, vent the system as described in chapter 7.5 “venting the metering pump”!
After 24 hours of operation, metering head screws should be diagonally tightened with
approx. 12 Nm.
CAUTION
If the metering line can be blocked off, an overflow valve (safety valve) which opens at the
maximum allowed pressure should be installed on the pressure side for safeguarding the
metering line and pump. This can stop the metering line bursting if wrongly operated.
The pressure can rise to 3 times the nominal pressure.
7.1 Startup the pump (only at version E10)
Set On- Off-Switch (see chapter 5.1 „Electronic versions E00 / E10“, Fig 5.2. ,pos. 3)
to position „1“ (On). Pump is running.
7.2 Switch Off the pump (only at version E10)
Set On- Off-Switch (see chapter 5.1 „Electronic versions E00 / E10“, Fig 5.2. ,pos. 3)
to position „0“ (Off). Pump is swithed off.
7.3 Initial startup / Delivery status
In delivery condition, the pump is protected against
escape of gearbox oil by means of a sealing closure on
the oil filler opening.
WARNING
Before start-up the pump:
Replace the locking screw on the oil
charging hole with the enclosed vent
7.4 Adjustment of metering capacity (mechanical)
WARNING
The metering capacity can only be set during operation of the pump.
(0+15) Metering capacity
(50+40) Metering capacity
The metering capacity is set by turning the
stroke adjustment knob (pos. 1).
- By turning the knob clockwise, metering
capacity is reduced.
- By turning the knob anticlockwise,
metering capacity is increased.
The current set value is displayed through
the position of the stroke adjustment knob
(pos. 1) in connection with the vernier
scale.
NOTE
The pump capacity has to be measured in order to determine the metering capacity
accurately (see section 7.6 "Metering capacity calculation").
