3.3 Collecting Sweat
6. Select Observed Sweat Rate
a. With the tubing pulled up and away from the collector, verify
actual sweat rate by observing the volume of sweat collected in
the tube.
b. On the display, tap the corresponding sweat rate observed on the
collector. A selection must be made to continue.

*Sufficient sweat rate is defined as 1g/m
2
/min, which in terms of
volume equates to approximately 15 µL of sweat collected within 30
minutes.
**Sweat samples collected with an insufficient sweat rate should not
be recorded as a valid sweat test, because of a risk of false negative
results with very slow sweating rates.
c. Tap next to the icon , , or that corresponds to the
amount of sweat in the tubing. The icon indicates the selected
sweat rate.
d. Tap to advance to the next screen, or tap to go back to the
previous screen.
NOTE: If is tapped, the Insert Needle and Remove Tube screens are
bypassed.
