Flow limit
Select the nominal diameter by optimizing between the required flow range and permissible pressure
loss.
For an overview of the full scale values for the measuring range, see the "Measuring range"
section →  10
The minimum recommended full scale value is approx. 1/20 of the maximum full scale value
In most applications, 20 to 50 % of the maximum full scale value can be considered ideal
A low full scale value must be selected for abrasive media (such as liquids with entrained solids):
flow velocity < 1 m/s (< 3 ft/s).
To calculate the flow limit, use the Applicator sizing tool →  109
Pressure loss
To calculate the pressure loss, use the Applicator sizing tool →  109
System pressure
It is important that cavitation does not occur, or that gases entrained in the liquids do not outgas.
This is prevented by means of a sufficiently high system pressure.
For this reason, the following mounting locations are recommended:
At the lowest point in a vertical pipe
Downstream from pumps (no danger of vacuum)

Thermal insulation
In the case of some fluids, it is important to keep the heat radiated from the sensor to the
transmitter to a low level. A wide range of materials can be used for the required insulation.
The following device versions are recommended for versions with thermal insulation:
Version with extended neck for insulation:
Order code for "Sensor option", option CG with an extended neck length of 105 mm (4.13 in).
Extended temperature version:
Order code for "Measuring tube material", option TD or TG with an extended neck length of
105 mm (4.13 in).
