7.1 Overview of the operation options
NMT81 can be operated via:
• Operating keys and DIP switches on the electronic insert
• Operating tool (Endress+Hauser FieldCare/DeviceCare)
• HART Master connecting with devices (NMS8x, NMR8x, NRF8x)

Menu Submenu / parameter Meaning
Guidance Commissioning Initial settings of the measurement
Calibration Calibration for the sensor electronics unit

Calibration is set prior to shipping.
Import / Export • Saves parameters which have been set to
PC
• Reads parameters which have been saved
from devices and applies for device
settings.
• Exports the parameters which have been
set in the device.
Diagnostics Active diagnostics Contains:
• Active diagnostic message (highest
priority diagnostic event)
• Last rectified diagnostic message
• Restart (when was the last restart,
optional)
• Overall operating time (lifetime)
Diagnostic list Indicates only one error which can be the
highest priority.
Event logbook Records all events occurred in the diagnosis
and device operation.
Minimum/maximum values Shows minimum and maximum terminal
voltages, electronics temperatures, sensor
temperatures.
Simulation Used to simulate measured values or output
values.
Diagnostic settings Permits specific diagnosis settings.
Ex-factory to every event a certain
diagnostic behavior is allocated.
