8.2 Pulse Range Calibration of Diameter
NOTE!
It is impossible to get an accurate result of the diameter calibration, if
the clamping pressures and other adjustments are not correct.
− The basic diameter calibration is generally made in connection with
the installation, but because the pulse range (= the motion extent) of
a new grapple often changes, it can be necessary to calibrate the
pulse range some other time, too.
− If the diameter is not displayed, the reason can be a change of the
diameter range.
− These actions should be carried out in the right order and, when
necessary, the key ‘Grapple open’ or ‘Grapple closed’ should be
pressed to the bottom during the programming.
− The basic diameter calibration proceeds as follows:
1. Go from the upper menu to the Test/calibration display.
2. Select the "Diameter calibration" key and press Enter.
3. Press Enter when the measuring equipment asks whether to
calibrate the range.
4. Open and close the grapple several times, until the pulse value
in the display is always the same, when the grapple is in closed
position.
5. Press Enter when the grapple is in closed position. Now the
diameter pulse range has been calibrated.
