6. While lifting the Carriage Unit as shown in Figure 4-25, remove the
rear of the Carriage Shaft from the notch, and pull the front of the
Shaft out of the bushing in the Base Frame.
7. Pull the Carriage Shaft out of the Carriage Unit.

8. Lift the Carriage Unit, remove the Lock Plate and then remove the
CR Drive Belt.

9. Disconnect the Carriage FFC CN5 from the Main Board and remove
the Carriage Unit. See Step 7 in Section 4.2.5

 Install the Carriage FFC with reference to Figure 4-20
on page 46.
 Install the Ground Plate B as shown in Figure 4-23 on
page 48.
