Faultymotorspeed
controller
• Switchonthebloweronthecabinet.
• SeeComponentLayouttolocatethemotorspeedcontroller
• Adjusttheknobofthespeedcontrollerclockwisetospeeduptheblower,
counterclockwisetolowerdowntheblowerspeed.
• Ifstilltheblowerdoesn'tworkwhen
fullyclockwisealready,switchoffthecabinet
andproceedtonextstepsbelow.
• Addjumpercablesbetweenthe2cablesgoingtothespeedcontrol.Thisis
bypassingthespeedcontroller.SeeFigure2‐2/2‐3below.
• Switchonthecabinet.
• Ifthefanoperatesproperly,the
speedcontrollerisdefectiveandneedstobe
replaced.
• Ifthefandoesnotoperate,theproblemisnotwiththespeedcontroller.Please
proceedtonextstep.
Faultycapacitor
• Switchtheunitoff.
• SeeComponentLayouttolocatethecapacitor.
• SeeFigure2‐4below,disconnecttwocablesofcapacitor.
• UsingacapacitancemeteroraDVMsettocapacitancemeasurement.Recordthe
valuebetweentwocapacitorcables.
• Ifthevalueisout
ofgivenrangesontable1,replacecapacitor.
• Ifthecapacitanceiswithinthegivenrangesproceedtonextstep.
Warning:Thecapacitormaystillhavesomeelectricalchargesifthecabinetwasonpriordoingthis
checking.Waitfor1‐2minutesandcheckthecapacitorvoltageusingavoltmetertoensurethe
capacitorwasdischarged(voltagelessthan5VAC)priortodisconnectingthecapacitor.
