10. After the calibration depths are set, methanol extract samples can be run in water or soil
mode.
11. To run a methanol extract sample in Soil mode, write a Soil method as instructed for
Water/Soil prep, set up the samples as directed in the Water/Soil prep portion of this
appendix. However, when inputting the sequence choose, MEOH Prep A or B for the
Extract option. See Figure A8. NOTE: Samples need to be placed in positions 51
through 100 and empty vials in positions 1 through 50. The samples correspond
with each other as they do in Water/Soil prep mode. Samples are purged in an
empty vial in the soil sampling station.

12. To run a methanol extract in Water mode, set up a Water method, set the samples in any
position on the sample tray and when inputting the sequence choose, MEOH Prep A or
B for the Extract option. See Figure A8. NOTE: Samples can be placed anywhere in
the Centurion sample tray and are purged in the sparge vessel of the concentrator.
13. All MEOH Prep samples are purged at a 50 to 1 dilution. The dilution is performed
automatically by the Centurion. If a sample needs further dilution, this must be done
manually.
