SYMPTOM POSSIBLE CAUSE
Starter motor will not operate • Shift handle not in NEUTRAL.
• Fuse blown.
• Battery is dead.
Engine will not start • Not following starting instructions. Refer to

• Fuel system not primed after running out of fuel.

• Fuel tank empty.
• Fuel hose kinked.

• Water intakes obstructed and cooling system not

• Fuel filter obstructed.

• Oiling system malfunction.
Engine runs, but makes little or
no progress
