THE BIKE IS NOW ASSEMBLED, BUT YOU WILL NEED PROPER
ADJUSTMENT AND SYSTEMATIC CHECKS REGULARLY, ESPECIALLY
IF THE BIKE IS GETTING HEAVY USE. YOU SHOULD ROUTINELY
PERFORM THE FOLLOWING CHECKS IN THE PRECEDING
ADJUSTMENT & TORQUING’ SECTION OF THIS MANUAL. CHECKING
ALL BOLTS BEFORE EACH RIDE IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

As brake pads and cables wear, slack can be taken up by the barrel
adjusters. If the lever touches the handlebars, the brake cable is too loose. If
you can barely squeeze it at all, the cable is too tight.
If the brake lever is too loose, adjust the barrel adjuster away from the brake
lever housing; this creates extra tension on the brake cable (1). Then tighten
the brake adjuster nut to secure the position (2).
BRAKE ADJUSTMENT
If the brake lever is too tight, adjust the barrel adjuster towards the brake
lever housing; this action relieves the tension on the brake cable (1). Then
tighten the brake adjuster nut to secure the position (2).
