1.3.36 Shield tool
The shield tool mounts on the cab ladder. Use the
shield tool to open shields that do not have
handles.
For safety reasons and in compliance with
European Directives, the safety guards are
equipped with a quick lock which can only be
opened with shield tool or a screwdriver. This is to
prevent unauthorized persons from accessing
dangerous areas of the machine.
The shield tool can also be used to help align the
power take-o.

1.3.37 Leveling system
Warnings for the leveling system
On models designed for hilly ground, the leveling system allows the machine body to remain horizontal.
Pay attention to the slope and the type of ground, as this could reduce the machine grip. On rough ground,
drive carefully and reduce speed.
Always use the leveling system during field operation. Never exceed the allowable limit which is indicated
by an audible alarm and by a message on the terminal. Only work if the machine body is horizontal; it is
extremely dangerous to drive when the machine is inclined to one side.
When working on a downhill slope, do not exceed the permitted work limits.
Work in crosswise passes; to change direction, always point the header uphill.
Make no sudden turns, especially when the grain tank is full. The leveling system has a technical response
time.
Couple the brake pedals to prevent braking errors. Make sure the brake system works eciently. Do a
check of the oil level frequently and replace the friction pads before they are completely worn.
Overconfidence in the use of the machine can result in a lack of attention and can therefore create
dangerous situations.
Do frequent checks of the manual leveling systems, as they must provide additional safety in case the
automatic leveling feature fails. The manual systems override automatic systems although they are not
normally in operation.
Never operate the machine when it is manually inclined on flat ground, as the engine lubrication may be
inadequate.
Do a check of the tire pressure. Insucient pressure endangers tire integrity and has potentially serious
consequences.
Activate the road transport switch before the machine is driven on public roads.
